Release of Delhi Commonwealth Games theme song

Have you guys heard the ‘O Yaaro Bula Liya’, the Delhi Commonwealth Games theme song launched by Oscar award winner A.R. Rehman? While majority of the listeners of the song released at Kingdom of Dreams, Gurgaon commended it there are others who criticized it dubbing it as unimpressive. Among the dignitaries who extolled the Delhi Commonwealth Games theme song as per the latest Commonwealth Games 2010 news were Urban Development Minister S. Jaipal Reddy, Commonwealth Games Organizing Committee Chairman Suresh Kalmadi, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, amongst others. BJP leader Vijay Kumar Malhotra, according to reuters.com Commonwealth Games 2010 News, criticized it saying it is far inferior than songs of the past composed by the Oscar award winner. He further added that ‘Maa Tujhe Sallam’ seemed to be a better song than the Delhi Commonwealth Games theme song the lyrics of which isn’t great nor is the song hummable. He expressed disappointment over the fact that the theme song was not presented in the executive board meeting first.

Well, every event has its positive and negative traits; Delhi Commonwealth Games is no exception. Despite the corruption charges, slow readiness of venues, etc. all are waiting with a positive approach for its great success.

And for the Delhi Commonwealth Games theme song, it will draw both positive and negative criticism. I have heard, A.R. Rehman charged Rs. 5 crore for composing the song and that it took him over six months to give shape to it!
