Stocks, Mutual Funds and Cricket Scores

It is past mid December 2011 and the year is soon going to end. During the course of the year, markets have not been performing up to the expectations. Sensex and nifty stocks performances witnessed great volatility. If you look back at sensex and nifty stocks performances in 2011, you will find that the indices, on an average, swung in the16,000 and 5,000 figures respectively. As per early trade statistics (19th Dec.), concerning sensex and Nifty stocks, the market fell 1.2 percent. The downfall is all because of lack of progress on resolving the European debt crisis and cooling economic growth. Even the best mutual fund cannot be termed best. The position of the best mutual fund displayed in today’s chart may be taken over by another in tomorrow’s chart. Careful analysis is a must to take the right investing decision.

Volatility of NSE and BSE stock market

When rejoicing moments crop up, the luster gets suddenly lost with some bearish trends shadowing the bullish scenario. Well I am talking about the NSE and BSE stock market. If today the nifty has closed at 5,420.60 points and sensex at 18,086.20 – a loss of 0.34 percent and 0.28 percent respectively, which is quite huge, you may find tomorrow’s figures going down further or in the uptrend. The NSE and BSE stock market is so unpredictable these days, in fact, for the last several months. It has become a difficult affair for investors like me fight volatility. Every now and then, I log in to in.reuters.com for the latest market news, to have a glimpse of the sensex and nifty, to watch live stock quotes, and more. Probably, as I am almost new to the market, I am incurring losses. It has been a year now; the ‘new’ tag should be removed when identifying myself in the NSE and BSE stock market! Well, you can at least take some decision viewing the live stock quotes; but it will be wise on my part to conduct some research on the live stock quotes to choose lucrative ones. Let’s experiment and see!

Market turbulence and sensex nifty

It is the sensex nifty that are the top news in all news portals and television channels. And it is no surprise if even housewives are glued to the television news channels to have a glimpse of the latest sensex nifty figures. In the present market scenario where turbulence is often seen causing the figures to rise and fall quite often, investors are in a dilemma whether to hold or sell. Due to the domestic corruption being surfaced, especially related to the 2G scam and housing loan bribery, the Indian stock market is no doubt affected. But foreign funds continue to flow in though with not the rate as was witnessed weeks back. Highs and lows are a part of everyday trading.

Another reason for the sensex and nifty slipping into the negative territory for some time is the announcement by RBI about its decision of not increasing its key policy rates further. However, the RBI has also decided to cut the SLR by 1% to 24%.

For complete news on the sensex nifty including the A-Z news of the share market, commodity market, mutual funds, and other financial news, you can rely on Reuters.
