Varun Gandhi arrested on Saturday by UP police for making inflammatory comments against Muslims during a speech. Police got violent, fired in air and charged on at least 10000 supporters of Varun Gandhi. This all could affect the votes as Elections 2009 is approaching. This arrest was the outcome of his speech which he gave in early March this year comparing Muslims to Osama Bin Laden and threatening Muslims. After this Gandhi denied what all was said in the speech and claiming the footage to be fake.
He said that he is not guilty of what he said and he is ready to go to jail for his people. Varun Gandhi has been demanded to be dropped from the BJP as a candidate as India’s election commission will monitor his future campaign rallies from now.
